Former Major League Pitcher Caught In Massive Drug Bust

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Esteban Loaiza was nabbed by authorities in San Diego on Friday carrying 44 pounds of heroin or cocaine according to Fox News. Loaiza is being held on $200,000 bail and faces charges of felony possession of drugs and two felony counts of transporting and possessing narcotics with intent to sell.

Loaiza was a two-time All-Star and won 126 games in his career while playing for eight teams over 14 seasons in the major leagues. His best season was in 2003 when he won 21 games and finished second in American League Cy Young voting.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday, February 14th.
