WrestleMania 42 will reportedly not be taking place in New Orleans next year, according to a statement provided to Wrestlenomics' Brandon Thurston by the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation on Thursday (May 22).
The statement indicates that New Orleans will no longer host WWE's biggest annual event in 2026, as was announced in February, but will instead get a Money in the Bank premium live event. The news also follows the recently announced card for UFC 318 set for Smoothie King Center on July 19, 2025.
The two events are reportedly part of a “multi-event, multi-year agreement” between New Orleans organizers and TKO Group Holdings Inc., the parent company of WWE and UFC. The specific date for the 2026 Money in the Bank premium live event wasn't revealed, however, the event has most commonly been held in June or July.
“The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year," The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation reads via Wrestlenomics.
WWE hasn't yet announced where it will hold WrestleMania 42 following the reported change.
