Dan has made his feelings known about the conflict of interest he sees with FOX NFL broadcaster Tom Brady sitting in the Raiders’ coaching booth with a headset on and he sought clarification directly from the NFL on the subject. The NFL was kind enough to respond, but the truth is that they are well within their rights to determine exactly where the lines are drawn for their own rules and regulations and don’t need approval from fans or the media.
Dan Patrick: “The NFL is just trying to kick the can down the road…but the NFL survives all of this, and they don’t have to answer anything. You know if I’m Commissioner Goodell, all he has to say is, ‘Hey, the owners don’t have a problem with this. I don’t have a problem with this. It’s you guys in the media.’ OK. And maybe that’s the case. Maybe fans don’t care, but it’s a conflict of interest.”
